About Us
Dreamers was started in 1989 by Delores Heuer – a long-time educator and theater enthusiast in
DeKalb. The main purpose of the group is to promote the enrichment of young people’s lives
through self-expression with music, drama, and friendship. We welcome new members at all times –
the most important quality needed is the love of theatre and performance.
Dreamers is currently under the co-direction of Gavin Wilson and Dan Coran. Gavin has a
degree in music composition from NIU and has done extensive performing in community and
professional theatre over the past 20 years. He has directed several shows in the DeKalb area,
taught improvisation to private students, and has also co-directed with Dee Heuer in several shows.
Dan has a degree in English literature from Stanford University and has been active in DeKalb-area community theatre for the past 8 years.
He has produced several musicals for Children’s Community Theatre, an organization he was president of for
two years.
